Sivananda BalakashramAim of Sivananda Balakashram

 

Sivananda Balakashram is a Gurukul dedicated to his Holiness Swami Sivananda Saraswati. It was established with the inspiration and a resolve (Sankapla) of Swami Satyananda Saraswati for the children affected by the earth quake on 2001.

 

To bring forth the relationship of the children (Batuks) and what they will receive/imbibe from Sivananda Balakashram, the life, personality and qualities of his Holiness Sivananda Saraswati, who is the chief source of inspiration has to highlight.

 

Swami Sivananda Saraswati’s life and personality is a representation and manifestation in action of a great devotee and of a supreme person as discussed in 12th and 15th chapter of Shree Math Bhagwad Gita. His personality has all the qualities of:

This beginning has become the medium to bring the blessings of saints.

Balakashram being a Gurukul in the lines with the Sanathan culture where children will live as one family as guru brothers, regardless of their background. They will imbibe the qualities of Seva, Karuna and Prem for all living creatures and for nature.

 

Balak (Children) of Sivananda BalakashramApart from receiving formal education in schools, they live an ashram lifestyle learn different aspects of yoga, make them part and parcel of their lifestyle. Environment is made conducive for children to imbibe the right Samskara at the right time proving them the appropriate and ample opportunity to grow in the field of their interest. They will imbibe the qualities of universal love and brotherhood keeping in their heart the teachings of Saints, bring it out in their thoughts and actions and will grow up into responsible citizens.

 

Balakashram will provide all opportunities for the children and care for their all round development, physical, educational, social and spiritual make them self dependent and care for self respect (Swabhimani and Swavalambhi). Education will be arranged to whatever stage required according to aptitude. The ashram will also endeavour to assist the children to become established in life. They will be free to go wherever they choose after reaching an age to make mature personal decisions.
